The Waiting Room Joins WOXY.com Saturday

WOXY.com is pleased to add THE WAITING ROOM to our program schedule. Based in Cardiff, Wales, TWR presents a lively and entertaining mix of music and conversation hosted by one half of Drunk Country & The Woman of the House. THE WAITING ROOM will air Saturday at 8a and again Sunday at 4p beginning February 28th.

Recent playlists have featured Heartless Bastards, Jukebox The Ghost, A Camp, and Andrew Bird, while recent interviews include Pete & The Pirates, Ida Maria and Those Dancing Days.

Not only will the program be archived for on-demand listening, TWR graciously offers podcasts of the program as well. We invite you to visit their site and listen for yourself. We know you'll enjoy the latest addition to the WOXY lineup, THE WAITING ROOM, coming soon to The Future of Rock & Roll!

Note: The Saturday edition of WOXY Vintage will move to its new timeslot, 10a-Noon, right after TWR.

If they are playing Jukebox the Ghost, The Heartless Bastards & Andrew Bird, they must be doing something right. Sounds like a great addition.

I was really excited when I read that they are from Cardiff, but was sad that no Welsh bands were listed. Does the radio show incorporate Welsh music?

I think you'll find that they, like WOXY, search the world over for music to present. I'm quite certain that they've played plenty of Welsh bands in the past. They've been doing the show for a few years. Have no fear.

This sounds cool.

A little suggestion: could you do something like a timetable with all the different programs so that we don't miss a bit of them?

Theatre of a feeble mind at work here, but TWR sounds like Desmond and Penelope from Lost chatting about music.

Brilliant!

Nice pick up!

TWR Playlists

Hello You.

Many thanks indeed, from the TWR team, for the very warm welcome to the behemoth that is WOXY - we will do our best to avoid the zip code commonly known as disappointment.

We've received a number of emails & messages asking where people can find a live playlist for each show (as they air) — apologies. What with all the headless chicken activity getting ready for the first show that's the one thing we forgot to do. It's now on-line & you can find it, & from next week each subsequent show's running order, via our external website's playlist section.

Thanks again.

I was only able to listen to the first hour of the show but I thoroughly enjoyed not only all of the musical selections, but also the banter of the DJs. Their ability to deconstruct and speak intelligently about the music was interesting to listen to and some of the music I will definitely be checking into further.

Really glad woxy picked up this show.

Oh, and glad for the playlist addition.

That is what I appreciated as well. It was very detailed and I tweeted to DC that I would need to have a notepad out in the future in order to make notes so that I could "play along at home". He answered something about salt cellars that I must confess went completely over my head. Not sure if my not picking up the reference is due to my age or my geography.

I was running errands and listening on the iPhone for the end of the show and really loved a couple 'rockers' toward the end of the show (or was it Broadway Pop?) Judging from the playlist, it was probably these ones (give or take a few):
20) Raise High The Roof Beam – Break My Heart In Two
21) Favours For Sailors – I Dreamt That I Dreamt That You Loved Me In Your Dreams
22) The Frontier Brothers – Space Punk Starlet
Hopefully some of these will make it onto the crowded WOXY playlist!
